It is REALLY time for an update!

Oh my, how time flies! You would think, by looking at my profile, that I am a terrible blogger who has no intentions of keeping things up to date. Well, yes and no. Yes, I am new to blogging as they call it, but I haven't been neglecting on purpose! Since moving into our home this last July, I have been without internet until now. I swear! That then raises the question " Can a modern day woman survive that long without internet?" I didn't think so, but I have made it through. Kind of. While we did not have wireless or anything on our home computer, my husband used the computer at work, and both of us had access to the web on our iphones. However, you couldn't pay me to blog & post pictures everyday on that Etty-bitty screen. So yesterday, pretty much on a whim, my husband & I signed our life away and purchased a mac-book & here we are. Once again living among the human race. Thank you Jesus! My patience and persistence has paid off. Actually, we paid them. With credit. So onto the update...

In July after many tears, days of pulling out our own hair & struggling with our no good broker, we signed the papers & received the keys to our first owned home as a family.
Home ownership is amazing. Among the things I enjoy most about our home would be afternoons spent playing with my children in our lovely shaded back yard. Hours of leisure on our brand new couch curled up with a good book or magazine. Mornings sipping hot tea gazing out our huge front window at the neighborhood and the trees blowing in the breeze. Our first few months were very serene, still in awe of our new purchase and great commitment.

The things I have not enjoyed but have come to terms with-- Our very small kitchen with no dishwasher. Our tiny bedroom & one other bedroom the children must share. Having to gate off our basement from the rest of the house in order to keep our son from plunging over the edge. The endless list of things needing to be done.

We have many exciting times ahead of us though, our house & us. Basement renovations are in order starting this Spring. On the agenda: New hard wood flooring, Dry wall to replace the awful ghetto wood paneling, and a new bathroom & laundry room complete with a new vanity, toilet, tile flooring & walk-in shower. Let the games begin!

Thomas- Thomas has been enrolled at Chemeketa since the fall and is working towards his transfer degree for University of Oregon in Eugene. He should be ready to transfer & finish his bachelors in Linguistic studies by next Spring. He currently holds a 4.0 and is working very hard, both in school & at work.

Myself- I have been keeping myself busy with the children & my own creative projects at home. The up keeping of both children & a home some days runs me so rag id I want to run straight back to work. That would be easier, & easier on my clothes. Most the time, I cannot believe I have the luxury of getting to see my children develop everyday before my eyes. Plus, I get naps. I am involved in my local MOPS group here, and cherish all the friendships I have acquired. I feel quite lucky. God has been good to me, and I know it.

Taylor- This girl has been so busy and is ever changing. She is really starting to come out of her shell. She is three, but would rather tell everyone she is four and that her name is on any given day, either Kylan, Olivia, or Niqua-Taylor. She currently enjoys soccer, swimming, dancing around like a monkey, baking with her mama and various crafts. Since moving into our home, she now resides at night in her very own bed. We of course dusted it first after the months of zero use. In September, Taylor shall begin her biggest adventure yet--Preschool. We shall be enrolling her at Grace Christian Preschool in the fall. Stay tuned for more updates on that.

Aiden- Wow! What a change! Walking, running, jumping, dancing. You name it, he does it! Some of his many talents include constant giggling, pooping, eating, and drinking. He is a total boy and is into everything. He is also quite a sensitive Lil' man. Much more so than his sister ever was or is now. Another difference I have noticed between him & his sister that his use of the word no is a lot more tame and specific. He uses it only to respond to a question asked of him, and not just "Because I can" like his sister. While he has his fair share of meltdowns, they are fewer and farther between at this age (18 mo.) than his sister. In mid September, we completed our year long adventure with breast feeding. It was sad, but a lot easier than I originally anticipated. I have fond memories of that time, but I am happy to be at a different stage in both his and my life. I am also happy to have our bed back. So coincidentally, is my husband.

Taylor & Aiden together are such a joy. I watch them grow closer together & bond in such a way I could not even imagine while I grew him in my belly. I look forward to many activities they can do with each other, as well the things we can do as a family. With great faith & excitement, I will embrace the future and what it holds for the Christ family.

That is all for now. Let it not be another nine months.
