Time for an update

Well, it's May 13th, about time for an update. Currently, Thomas, the kids & I are still living with his parents. If you did not know, we moved from Beaverton to Dallas at the end of November to start looking for a house. We decided on the Dallas /Salem area because of the closure of the Oregon City Figaros just after Halloween. Now he is working with his father in the Dallas Figaros store that they own together, so being closer would be much more convenient. Our lease was up in December, so instead of being sucked into another year, we moved in with the in- laws. That has been pretty good. With most of our stuff in storage, it reminds me how much crap we can do without. Can you say summer garage sale?

Thomas- As I said, he closed down the O.C. store. Kind of a rough time, but it really was a good thing. Losing money just doesn't do much for us. Plus, I think he enjoys working with his father again and vice versa. Also, he is planning to go back to school either this fall or soon after to get into linguistics, which is something he has always wanted to do. Yah hubby!

Myself- Well...I left my wonderful job as four beautiful children's nanny in June of last year, when I was almost seven months pregnant with my son. Boy, what a transition that was! I know it was a shock for my daughter, becuz her schedule that I had worked so hard to keep straight went right out the window! Bedtime at 8? Try 1am! Sleep in my crib? No mommy, I'm a big girl now who likes to perform trapeze acts to escape...your bed is now my bed.... and that's how it still is. With both kids! But I tell you, when I get a house of my own and don't have to worry about child services at my door every night (just kidding!) it's crackdown time!

In August, we had our lovely Lil' man, Aiden Thomas Christ. What a blessing. I never knew how rewarding having a little boy would be. He is just so smiley and loving. Love, love, love, love! That was a big adjustment, going from one to two. I was lucky enough to have my husband home with me for the first month though. I highly recommend paternity leave for all men if possible.

In September, we made the decision that I would not be returning back to work of any sort outside the house..at least for now. That was a relief to me. I have been thoroughly enjoying my time home with the children. I have full rewarding LONG days, and I love it so much. But I kind of get a little restless....

Taylor- Our Taylor Cadence Christ is growing, growing, growing. She will be three on Aug.2nd and her hair has grown all the way down to her butt (well, almost, it will be there soon!). She is my active little girl with bruises all up her legs from her many climbing adventures. We enjoy the parks here in Dallas, and hitting the aquatic center one Saturday a month for a good swim. She just loves the water. Her new interests include Backyardigans, (Yes, since being here she has discovered the television) doing the dishes, and playing with her brother. In December, she kicked the bottle (yea!) and has been potty trained since the end of January. She continues to amaze me with her developing knowledge, communication, and understanding of the world around her.

Aiden- Since arriving in late august, he has made our life that much more complete. This year he has learned to roll over, crawl, sit up, creep, stand occasionally, and is trying desperately to be among the walking. That would just make his day. He is curious, giggly, and always happy in the morning when he rises. He enjoys playing with his sister and following her around the house. He loves to cuddle with his momma, and be tickled by daddy.

In June, we will officially get to move into our new house (Ah! ). We are very excited about this, as well as anxious to be apart of the huge percentage of American homeowners in debt. I will post a blog when we move in with pictures. Well, that pretty much wraps in up...Aiden has dumped a whole bag of rainbow goldfish on the floor and is throwing them every which way. Once again, motherhood calls.
